Outpatient Therapy for Individuals Navigating Death, Divorce, and Life Transitions
Grief Isn’t Something to “Get Over.” It’s Something to Move Through — With Care, Support, and Time
Whether you’ve lost a loved one, gone through a painful divorce, or experienced a major life change that left you feeling unmoored, grief can be overwhelming. It doesn’t always follow a straight line. One day might feel okay, and the next, like you can’t breathe.
At Neubauer Mental Health Services (NMHS), we provide grief counseling and loss support for children, teens, and adults — creating a safe place to explore feelings, find meaning in the pain, and begin moving forward in your own time.

What Is Grief Therapy?
Grief therapy helps individuals process the emotional impact of loss — whether sudden or expected, recent or long ago. It’s especially helpful when:
- You feel “stuck” in your grief
- The loss was traumatic, complicated, or sudden
- You’re overwhelmed by guilt, anger, or regret
- Grief is affecting your ability to function
- You’re facing multiple losses or transitions at once
- You don’t feel supported by others — or don’t want to “burden” them
There’s no timeline for grief, and no “right” way to feel. Our role is to walk with you as you figure out what comes next.

What Therapy May Include
Emotional support without pressure or platitudes
Processing difficult emotions like guilt, anger, or fear
Exploring the meaning of the relationship and the loss
Building rituals or ways to honor the person or chapter you’ve lost
Developing coping strategies for grief waves or triggering events
Family sessions to support grieving parents, children, or partners
Safety and stabilization when grief leads to depression or hopelessness
We Support Clients Through All Types of Loss
- Death of a parent, child, sibling, or friend
- Miscarriage, infertility, or infant loss
- Divorce, separation, or the end of a significant relationship
- Loss of health, mobility, or independence
- Loss of home, career, or identity
- Complicated grief from trauma, violence, or unresolved conflict
We also support children and teens who may struggle to express grief in words — often showing it through behavior, anxiety, or academic issues.
You Don't Have to Grieve Alone
Grief can feel isolating — but it doesn’t have to be. At NMHS, we offer therapy that meets you wherever you are in the process: raw, numb, confused, or ready to begin again.

Begin with Confidence. Continue with Support. Heal with Purpose.
