Frequently Asked Questions
What is Vegas Stronger and why are you a ‘Vegas Stronger Company’?
Vegas Stronger is a nonprofit in Las Vegas providing comprehensive mental health treatment, with a focus on substance use disorders, to the community, specializing in care for our most vulnerable populations like those experiencing homelessness.
Since 2022, Vegas Stronger has been the parent company of Neubauer Mental Health Services. Both Vegas Stronger and NMHS provide a client-centered and research-based approach to treatment, providing comprehensive case management in order to provide psychological care and behavioral health treatment. We decided to combine efforts so we could help even more Las Vegans!
Are you a nonprofit or for-profit treatment provider?
Currently, NMHS is a for-profit treatment model but is transitioning into a nonprofit model. This will not impact services, care quality, or cost. Please reach out to us for more information, if needed.
Does nonprofit mean my treatment is free?
Whether a for-profit or nonprofit treatment provider, we utilize a sliding-scale payment model. This means that NMHS adjusts the cost of therapy sessions based on a client’s income level, allowing individuals with lower incomes to pay less for therapy compared to those with higher incomes, making mental health services more accessible to a wider range of people; essentially, you pay what you can afford based on your financial situation. We charge insurance and Medicare when it is available, but do not turn away anyone from receiving care because of economic circumstances.
Do you treat kids? How does that work?
Yes, we have a team of experienced clinicians who specialize in a wide range of areas related to teens and adolescents.
How do I know if I need an assessment and what kind do I need?
At Neubauer Mental Health Services (NMHS), we are committed to providing comprehensive and evidence-based care to our clients. A crucial aspect of this care is accurately assessing potential clients. Screenings are a valuable tool that we utilize to enhance our treatment plans are can also be requested by individuals or the court. For most cases, you may receive a request for an assessment or evaluation from a legal representative. For other cases, we may recommend a specific assessment. The majority of the time, you do not need to worry about identifying the type of assessment you may need. You can reach out to us at any time with any questions or worries you may have and we can help you understand if an assessment would be helpful for your individual situation.
Do you treat things other than substance use disorder and addiction?
Yes! Our team of experienced clinicians specializes in a wide range of issues, including trauma, intellectual disabilities, spectrum disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, relationship concerns, and more. Review our full list of services here.
What is a Walk-In Mental Health Clinic?
A walk-in mental health clinic means that you do not need an appointment in order to stop by. Come to our location at 5426 Vegas Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada 89108 during our office hours and someone will be available to help you or find a time for us to treat you, no call or email needed beforehand!
What is Telehealth treatment? Do I have to do it?
Telehealth treatment is therapy provided in a secure, virtual setting. While this is a very helpful addition to treatment for many, allowing them to access treatment more often because they do not have to physically come in, you do not have to participate in telehealth treatment if you prefer in-person options.
